Among the suggested activities for participants in the Green Lunchroom Challenge are the completion of case studies and lesson plans related to the Challenge's strategies for preventing and reducing food waste. Through the sharing of such documents, it is hoped that other schools and organizations will be inspired to change their operations with an eye toward food waste reduction, and that educators will be better equipped to instill stewardship concepts in the minds of the next generation.
